I’ve changed my mind. I was wrong. A Re-examination AI Marketing
In a previous blog, I said I saw no harm in AI Marketing of one’s art. I have further examined that issue and changed my view.
I still don’t feel it’s right to let AI do part (or worse, all) of the work in creating art. What I’ve changed my mind on is using AI to market one’s art.
In the past 3 months I’ve learned a lot about Data Centers’ harm to the environment, to the people and wildlife who live nearby, to water, to the heated up air in that area, and to people’s electric bills. Since learning more about all this, I’ve stopped knowingly using AI to market my art. For instance, I used to find it amusing to animate my 3D art via AI. I’d make entertaining marketing videos of my art that way. Now I realize that I was probably wasting a bottle or more of water (cooling Data Center equipment) each time I was making such a marketing video.
So yeah, I was wrong. We live and we learn.
